Association for Coaching: Membership and Accreditation
Explaining what is the Association for Coaching and what does it mean for those studying with us.
Provider Membership
The Innate Coach is a Coaching and Training Organisational Member of the Association for Coaching (AC).
Our membership is renewed annually.
This means our coaching training programmes are aligned with the AC’s Coaching Competency Framework and Global Code of Ethics. We are part of an international community of providers committed to high‑quality, reflective and ethical coaching and coach training.
For our students, this means that your training sits within a recognised professional framework. You will benefit from complimentary introductory membership of AC for the duration of your training and, for our coach trainees, you have the option of applying for personal accreditation, with tiered pathways open to you as your coaching practice develops.
The Association for Coaching (AC) is an independent, not‑for‑profit professional body that exists to raise standards and promote best practice in coaching worldwide. It brings together coaches, training providers, supervisors and organisations from over 50 countries, and aims to 'inspire and champion coaching excellence' and advance the coaching profession globally.

Personal Accreditation
Individual Accreditation
Individual accreditation is available to those training to be a coach, on our Fundamentals of Coaching Award or Developing Confidence in Coaching Certificate. Gaining your own accreditation gives you professional recognition from the AC. It demonstrates that you are a qualified, competent coach who meets their standards of training, practice, and ethical conduct.
It is separate to your training qualification and shows that you have experience in applying AC coaching competencies with clients and are committed to your ongoing professional development and ethical practice.
It is your choice as to whether you choose to pursue and apply for your own accreditation. It is not a programme requirement.
You are eligible for accelerated accreditation where you are studying on a coach training programme with The Innate Coach. This means your accreditation process is streamlined, as much of the proficiency you are required to demonstrate has been integrated into your programme. Your self-study, practice hours and all assessed work completed during your programme counts as evidence towards your application.
Personal Accreditation: Benefits to our students
Professional credibility and trust
Your own accreditation shows your colleagues, employers, and any external clients or partners that you meet externally verified standards of training, ethics, and practice. It differentiates you from unaccredited coaches.
Professional recognition and career opportunities
An AC credential is recognised internationally, and can be a requirement or provide competitor advantage to you when applying for coaching roles, tenders, and/or corporate work.
Quality and ethical assurance
Your credential demonstrates your commitment to the AC’s Global Code of Ethics and Professional Standards, providing reassurance to your coachees about the quality and safety of your coaching.
Ongoing learning and support
The process of applying requires you to make use of AC resources and peer networks and community. These support your ongoing coaching development and confidence, beyond your training programme.
Confidence and professional identity
The process of reflecting on your practice, writing case studies, and engaging with supervision helps you consolidate your learning as well as build your identity and confidence as a coach.
