Programme Overview
The Developing Confidence in Coaching Certificate is a qualification, accredited by the Association for Coaching, designed for leaders and managers wanting to have more compassionate, curious and purposeful conversations at work. Our independent evaluation, conducted with York St John University from the first phase of the Employer Support Programme (2025-26), shows what becomes possible when leaders make that change: colleagues felt genuinely heard, trust deepened, their teams were better supported to remain and thrive in work, and leaders found greater confidence and clarity in their roles.
Delivered online, over seven modules, the Certificate takes you through the foundation and intermediate stages of coach training. You will explore coaching from the ground up: learning to distinguish it from other forms of support, understanding how your own health and presence as a leader shapes every conversation you have, and developing the skills to hold structured, compassionate interactions that help your teams think more clearly and take greater ownership. As the programme progresses, you will deepen your understanding of how the health and state of mind of coachee influences the conversation, and explore how the wider organisational environment shapes the conditions in which coaching conversations flourish.
The Certificate is aligned to internationally recognised professional and ethical standards and grounded in psychological principles. It supports multiple learning pathways, including individual coach accreditation and progression onto to an accredited Diploma.
